The latest herd sire in P BAR A Angus Cattle is Basin Franchise 81365. This bull is from the legendary Express Ranches breeding program. He is a four star calving-ease bull with a yearling weight ratio of +99. An explosive and super thick son of Basin Franchise P142 and his dam, Stevenson Lady 981R, that sold for close to $100,000. Franchise ranks in the top 1% IMF, URE, and $B. He is one of only three sires in the mainsire evaluation that can meet these criteria. This powerful young bull which we call "365" will have progeny starting 2011.
The bull on the right, OBI, also concentrates the carcass genetics of GAR Precision 1680 for added rib and volume. He was purchased from the Oklahoma Bull test by Howard McCall from whom we purchased the bull. OBI had over a 19.0 scanned ribeye measurement on test, a daily weight gain of 5.83 pounds, along with a highest test index of 121.8. He was born 72 pounds and a 365 weight of 1,364 which included an off test weight of 1,568 lbs. for a ratio of 117.8. His frame score was 6.0 and a scrotal of 38. This bull produces offspring that are a low birth weight then explode on test.
